![]() Luckily I have another PC with a mini-motherboard in it that may work with the elementary OS download. ![]() ![]() I believe it is possible HP omitted some Boot code from the BIOS firmware on this model (M/N: 14-ax022nr) and it may be impossible to use elementary OS on it. I believe the "?" file I did select above was "boot64.efi" but I would need to look at it again and confirm the filenames listed. An alternate file name, "grub64.efi" exists but I did not attempt to use it. ***Įven when I choose "Boot from an EFI file" and manually browse to a ?64.efi file, there is still an 'Access violation' error message. This will assert the WP pin and prevent any WP config bits from. *** May edit this later today and clarify this detail. ERROR: Verification failed:(0x1A)Security Violation 175. ![]() There is no choice on any BIOS menu showing "Legacy". The only "secure" things showing for booting are the "TPM" (Trusted Platform Module) choices with "Hidden" or "Available" and a second line showing "Disabled" I believe - these are the choices I recall seeing. I am also receiving the "mm圆4.efi" error on a lightweight HP Stream laptop (bios version "F.45", I believe) and the BIOS settings do not appear to support "Legacy" boot methods.
